While pricey for sandals, we ultimately felt the cost was well worth it for the combination of quality and understated style. We found the latter very thick, with a deep lug for excellent traction on rougher terrain. The only downside? We did experience some initial chafing around the toe loop, so we recommend breaking the sandals in before heading out on a hike. Crafted from soft, full-grain leather, the shoes mold to your feet as you wear them, with anatomically contoured footbeds that we found instantly comfortable—no breaking-in required. The only drawback is the slightly off-white color, which we felt seemed slightly unintentional, with no other colors to choose from.
